Timeline · 1411 → 2024
The earliest mention of the name dates from the second half of the 13th century, and the charter of 25 October 1411 is the first exactly dated document. The records form a graded chain of evidence, not one family tree.
The main, unbroken spine of the timeline rests on grade A documents, the most reliable kind. Beside it runs a grade B chain that hangs on one unopened page, I. Akhuashvili (ახუაშვილი), 1997, p. 48. Georgian Wikipedia reproduced the data credited to that page, and that is how the unchecked items spread so widely. The 13th-century mention stands on the spine. It is a serf called Berisdze (ბერისძე) in a blood-money claim from Shida Kartli (შიდა ქართლი). The row struck through in the table is 1448. An index misdated the 1488 judgment, so it is not a separate deed. The dates and places point to independent centres, but no genetic study has tested this.
