General Maghlakelidze also attended this congress, as an observer. He took the floor, condemned the congress's decision and voiced his protest against it. He was thrown down from the tribune. That same evening the Georgian general left Abastumani with three companions and set off for Akhaltsikhe. On the way they were attacked, and one of his escorts, surnamed Beridze, was killed. The general saved himself by flight (Maghlakelidze: 346).
