What is missing

Most villages on the site have no photograph. Above all we are looking for Erkota (ერკოტა) and Berieti (ბერიეთი), their churches and cemeteries, and for old family photographs that come with names and a year.

Send us family papers: church metrical books, household books (საკომლო წიგნები, 1935–2005), letters, deeds and army papers. Anything with a name, a place and a date is useful. A phone photo of the page is enough.

You can correct a wrong name, date, place or grade on any page, or send us a source we have not yet seen. Just tell us which page your note concerns and what your source is.

How to send

1. Write your name, your village or town, and in one or two lines describe the material you have.

2. The form on this page opens your mail program with the letter already started. Attach the photograph or the scan there; the site cannot receive files any other way.

3. Send the letter. The address belongs to the site's owner himself. Beqa Beridze (ბექა ბერიძე) reads every letter personally and usually answers within a week.

What happens next

What you send is checked against the sources and graded like everything else on the site. It is published only with your permission and is credited to you as the sender; where the photographer of an old picture is known, that name goes beneath it too. The site sells nothing. You can ask for your material to be taken down at any time.

Licence

The sender chooses whether a photo or text is published under a free licence or stays with this site only. The site always asks you and assumes nothing without your consent.
