rendering, not the wording of the record

ber-i (berisa): 1. old, elderly, aged (person) // in general, aged, old (thing); 2. a member of a church brotherhood who has taken a vow of ascetic life in a monastery // to be tonsured a monk (berad aghikvetseba), tonsured a monk (KEGL 2008, 996).

Claims

  • B-001 A supports

The root ბერი is polysemous. Abuladze's Old Georgian dictionary (1973) glosses it 'elderly person' and 'monk'; ქეგლ (2008) gives 'old person' and 'member of a monastic brotherhood'. Scholars add 'son, boy' (Javakhishvili 1937; cf. Laz ბერე), 'infant' (Marr), a son vowed as a ბერი when children were ill or dying (Koberidze 2023), and in Kartli a newborn called ბერი until its first year (Bardavelidze 1947, via Koberidze 2024). The 'son' sense is the one tied to ბერიძე.

  • B-303 refuted contradicts

"Beri = bear"; "-dze is Ossetian"; an Ossetian migration (famiry.ru)

All three contradict every Georgian source. Russian Wiktionary more honestly leaves the etymology blank.
