Passage A.40

pending · 2026-10-01Context

rendering, not the wording of the record

Under Ottoman rule the Beridzes were given the names Khabadzoghli, Koroghli, Haidaroghli, Ogoroghli, Hajioghli, Nigazevloghli ... (Baramidze, 2021: 122). This fact indicates that branch surnames (shtogvarebi) must have split off from a single surname (Topchishvili, 2010: 260).
