The Nakashidzes took the office of master of guests (mestumretukhutsesi) after the Beridzes. In 1664–1684 (under Giorgi III as Gurieli) this office (sakhelo) was still held by Giorgi Beridze, while in the first quarter of the XVIII century Bezhan Nakashidze holds it.

At the turn of the 17th–18th centuries the princely (თავადი) ბერიძე house of გურია declined: the offices it had held at the court of the გურიელი passed to the ნაკაშიძე family, and the ბერიძეები were reduced to the rank of აზნაური. In the 18th century the childless აზნაური მამუკა ბერიძე of დვაბზუ bequeathed his estate to საყვარელ ნაკაშიძე.
