Erkota villager born 1901, recorded in 1982 (no. 39 in Marine Beridze's list of tellers, which prints the surname first). His testimony covers the 1918-1919 attacks and names the Beridzes of Shalosheti among the Tatarised (Muslim) Georgian families of the district, beside the Abashidze begs of Toki, the Vachnadzes of Khertvisi and the Gelashvilis of Indusa (passage a-545). He also tells how at the start of 1926 several Erkota households, led by his brother Shalva Beridze, dismantled their houses, moved up to Chura and lived there as a commune with pooled livestock for six or seven months (passage a-544). His father's name Evgeni recalls Evgena of the Halajient Beridzes in Merab Beridze 2010/2011 (sweep 2 m212), but nothing in either source links them. sweep 3 A dspace.nplg.gov.ge
