The shift of the centre to this place began from the end of the 19th century. Its first founders were Glakhun Beridze, Masiko Tsintsadze, Pavle Megrelishvili, Ivane Mindadze, Ivane Jincharadze, Anton Chantladze, Giorgi Sharashidze, Giorgi Jincharadze and others, who built trading premises and a bakery here.
