rendering, not the wording of the record

At that time people were leaving homes located near the central roads and settling elsewhere, in places farther from the road. I have heard from the Beridzes living in the villages of Gegelidzeebi and Kokotauri that they resettled from the village of Abuketi, took the Turkish surname Abuketeloghli and settled away from the central road.

Nakashidzes live in Ortsva and Dzentsmani. Under Turkish rule most of them were registered as Sarajoghli, and the Beridzes in Dzentsmani are likewise Sarajoghlis. It is also said that the Nakashidzes avoided writing down the princely surname because the communists persecuted princes (tavadi), and some of the Nakashidzes registered as Beridze.

It is also said that Tedo Sakhokia recorded more than one legend from the judge (qadi), but unfortunately we have not yet found any trace of them. In the specialist literature (Beridze 2003: 151; Surmanidze 2015, №5) the view has been expressed that the well-known story of the rivalry between Abaza Beridze and the son of Parna Chinkadze (see Sakhokia 1950: 206) must have come precisely from Nuri…
