    Brosset, in the first report of his 1847–48 journey, copied a tombstone beside the village church: 'David, son of Beridze', servant of Stepane, archbishop of Rustavi, dated koronikon 505 = 1817. The stone shows a drinking vessel, an azarpesha, a gun and a sabre.
