Gurian aznaur; officially Semyon: the 1861 Caucasian Calendar lists the nobleman "Семенъ (онъ же Сіо) Георг. Беридзе" as chief of the Lanchkhuti section of Ozurgeti uezd. Praporshchik of militia in the 1st Gurian druzhina 1877–78 (Makaev 1913), wounded in the Adjara campaign (the theatre of war, not his home); aznaur elector; father of ნინუცა, wife of ტელემაქ გურიელი, and ვენერა (courted by Oliver Wardrop). Ninutsa is very probably Dumin's noblewoman Nina Simonovna Beridze (d. 1933), wife of Aleksandr (Telemak) Davidovich: the Simon patronymic now fits, but no source states the identification, so the quote is a likelihood, not a fact. Target of a 1903 assassination that killed a ქარცივაძე by mistake; he survived it

    In the second half of the XIX century Ninutsa Beridze, daughter of the aznauri (noble) Sio Beridze, was the wife of Telemak Gurieli, brother of the poet Mamia Gurieli. Oliver Wardrop wished to marry Ninutsa Beridze's sister, Venera Beridze, but his attempt ended in failure.
