Lado Beridze (Lado Khandoeli)

Actor and director of the Dusheti amateur troupe, often in the press as "Lado Khandoeli" because his mother came from Khando (passage a-556). He directed and acted in V. Gunia's "Da-dzma" on 12 April 1915 (15 April in a later chapter), a performance Vazha-Pshavela attended, and Teatri da tskhovreba 1915 praised his Pasha role (passage a-555). In the 1917-18 troupe; directed "Parizis gharib-ghataknni" and "Avgarozi" in 1925-26 and more plays in 1927-28 (OCR "1927-1923"). Listed among the Dusheti directors and actors at the end of I.     On 12 April 1915, with the participation and direction of L. Khandoeli (Lado Beridze), they staged V. Gunia's historical drama "Da-dzma" (Sister and Brother), in which D. Khandoeli played the part of Fayad-pasha and brought the audience to delight "with his gifted, thoughtful acting". It is interesting that this performance "was also attended by our poet Vazha-Pshavela

  • სალომე ბერიძე დაბადებულა 1895 წელს თელავში. მამით ადრე დაობლებულა. მისი ძმა ალექსანდრე ბერიშვილი, პროფე- სიით ექიმი, სამუშაოდ დუმეთში გადმოუყვანიათ და დედა და და თან წამოუყვანია. დუშეთუშივე დაოჯახებულა. სალომეს მე- უღლე ლადო ბერიძეც აქტიურად მონაწილეობდა დუშეთის სას- ცენო მუშაობაში. სალომეს განმარტებით, ლადოს დედა ხანდო- დან ყოფილა და ამიტომ ლადო „ხანდოელადაც“ იწერებოდა.

    Salome Beridze was born in 1895 in Telavi. She lost her father early. Her brother, Aleksandre Berishvili, a doctor by profession, was transferred to work in Dumeti [Dusheti], and he took his mother and sister with him. She married in Dusheti itself. Salome's husband, Lado Beridze, also took an active part in the stage work of Dusheti. As Salome explained, Lado's mother was from Khando, and so Lado also signed himself "Khandoeli".
