Major, deputy head of the military police directorate of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, awarded the Order of Vakhtang Gorgasali, 3rd class, posthumously by Head of State decree No. 65 of 14 June 1993 (Defence Ministry servicemen, for the defence and unity of the homeland). The record stands on the Georgian decree text of mematiane.ge alone; no birth date or village is given. The Russian lists of apsnyteka.org may name the same man: Беридзе Элгуджа Отарович, b. 1970, deputy head of the Abkhazian internal affairs administration, killed 16 March 1993 at Gumista (passage a-510), and the Elgudzha Beridze killed at the Achadara platform that day (passage a-512).
