Dimitri, Metropolitan of Batumi and Lazeti, raised the question of the canonisation of Deacon Severiane (in the world Khasan Beridze). The council (kreba) heard episodes and miracles describing the life of Father Severiane. The council decreed: the deacon, Father Severiane, shall be numbered among the saints and called Holy Deacon Severiane, the Adjarian Confessor, and the day of his death, 9 (22) August, shall be set as the day of his commemoration.
