According to the Georgian Wikipedia article on ზესოფელი (Keda municipality, Adjara), a hall-church dedicated to St Seraphim of Sarov (სერაფიმ საროველი) was built in the village centre in 2012–2015 on the initiative of Archpriest სერაფიმე (ბერიძე) — born ჯემალ (ნოდარ) ბერიძე in ზესოფელი in 1938, ordained in the 1990s and described in Georgian sources as the first native Adjarian priest of the post-Soviet era; he was tonsured a monk under the name სისო in 2015 and died in 2019 as a schema-archimandrite. ბერიძე is also listed among the village's common surnames (Sh. Abashidze, „დედაო — ჩემო ქედაო", Batumi, 2017). The church's construction dates and his role are stated by Wikipedia without a footnote and have not been independently confirmed.
