On the maps of Delisle and Vakhushti the fortress is placed at the western mouth of the Surebi gorge (Assourebi) (presumably at the confluence of the Supsa and the Bakhvistsqali), labelled Saberitzeo (Saberidzeo). On Vakhushti's map no river mouth is drawn beside the fortress, and the river on whose bank the fortress stands does not join the Supsa; the exact location of the fortress is unknown.

Vakhushti's sentence is A. Two ruins at Zeda Dzimiti are candidates: heritage 16793 (castle ruin on a hill by the river) and 21048 (ნაციხარი on the highest point of Chitia mountain). Neither registry card names the Beridzes, so the localisation stays open between them (Takaishvili via Wikipedia, B). Delisle's map was never viewed by us (C); a minority view puts the castle at ბუკისციხე.
