At the turn of the XVII-XVIII centuries the princely (tavadi) house of the Beridzes was reduced in rank. They lost their offices at the court of the Gurieli, which passed into the hands of the Nakashidzes, and the Beridzes became aznauris (nobles).

At the turn of the 17th–18th centuries the princely (თავადი) ბერიძე house of გურია declined: the offices it had held at the court of the გურიელი passed to the ნაკაშიძე family, and the ბერიძეები were reduced to the rank of აზნაური. In the 18th century the childless აზნაური მამუკა ბერიძე of დვაბზუ bequeathed his estate to საყვარელ ნაკაშიძე.
