Born in Tbilisi 1 January 1949, died 25 December 2020. Physical geography at Tbilisi State University, 1972. At the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography 1974-1991. From 2000 director of the research and production centre Saknapirdatsva (coastal protection), later deputy head of the hydrometeorology department of the National Environment Agency.
