Born 1895 in Telavi; she lost her father early. Educated at the Telavi boarding school and the St Nino boarding school in Kutaisi. Taught at the Gremiskhevi primary school and then Russian in Dusheti, where her brother Aleksandre Berishvili, a doctor, had been posted and where she married (passage a-556). On the Dusheti stage from 1914 and in the Dusheti people's theatre for more than 50 years, praised for refined professionalism and high stagecraft; roles are noted in 1917-18, the 1930s, 1944 and 1950-52. I. Gogolauri interviewed her on 16 March 1970, and his 1997 chronicle says she had died a few years before (passage a-557).     Salome Beridze was born in 1895 in Telavi. She lost her father early. Her brother, Aleksandre Berishvili, a doctor by profession, was transferred to work in Dumeti [Dusheti], and he took his mother and sister with him. She married in Dusheti itself. Salome's husband, Lado Beridze, also took an active part in the stage work of Dusheti. As Salome explained, Lado's mother was from Khando, and so Lado also signed himself "Khandoeli".

    For more than 50 years S. Beridze served the Dusheti people's theatre. As her contemporaries describe it, the roles S. Beridze played always stood out for refined professionalism and high stagecraft, with which she brought the audience to delight. This woman of great service died a few years ago.
