According to tradition the Beridzes came from Beriebi and settled in Dadeshi and Erkota. The Beridzes who settled in Dadeshi held land in Beriebi, just as the people of Erkota did.

Oral tradition — but the strongest folk claim in the corpus, because it names a place and proposes a route (Meskheti → Upper Adjara) rather than a miracle. No charter, defter or census connects Beriebi to any Adjaran Beridze.
