A session of the Holy Synod canonised the deacon Severiane (Beridze), who for many years served in Adjara and converted hundreds of Muslims to Christianity. It is a joy that St Severiane's brother by blood is the schema-archimandrite Sisoa (Beridze), now serving at the Qintsvisi monastery of the fathers, and that St Severiane's nephew is the rector of the Batumi Theological Seminary, Archpriest (dekanozi) Basil Beridze.
