The chronicle of his death runs as follows: "On 11 July 1916, during aerial reconnaissance, he was flying an aircraft of the "Vuazen" (Voisin) system. Near the enemy positions he met a "Foker" (Fokker) type fighter. Beridze heroically engaged in the unequal fight and manoeuvred until fire broke out from the holed fuel tank at a height of 1200 metres, after which his aeroplane fell and the pilot was killed."
