1992-1995 წლებში იყო საქართველოს მე-3 მოწვევის პარლამენტის წევრი პარტიული სიით, საარჩევნო ბლოკი „მშვიდობა“. იყო სპიკერის მოადგილე და შეწყალების კომისიის თავმჯდომარე, 1997-2005 წლებში ადამიანის უფლებათა დაცვის საკითხებში ეროვნული უშიშროების საბჭოს მდივნის მოადგილე იყო.
