In 1917, travelling in southern Georgia, Ekvtime Takaishvili was amazed by the memory and learning of the mother of the Khimshiashvilis of Olti, a hundred-year-old member of the Beridze family. She knew The Knight in the Panther's Skin (Vepkhistkaosani) by heart and taught it thoroughly to her children too
